Guidance on compliance with family court child arrangement orders during the Coronavirus Pandemic

Government guidance issued alongside the Stay at Home Rules on 23rd March deals specifically with child contact arrangements. It says:

“Where parents do not live in the same household, children under 18 can be moved between their parents’ homes.”

This establishes an exception to the mandatory ‘stay at home’ requirement; it does not, however, mean that children must be moved between homes. The decision whether a child is to move between parental homes is for the child’s parents to make after a sensible assessment of the circumstances, including the child’s present health, the risk of infection and the presence of any recognised vulnerable individuals in one household or the other.

Wills, LPA and Probate Services During The Coronavirus Outbreak

We at Passmores, are committed to providing a Will, LPA and probate service throughout this period of crisis and uncertainty. We are also wanting to show our immense gratitude to the NHS during this difficult time and will be donating 10% of all fees generated from Wills to our local health board, Cardiff and the Vale.

We are able to offer an initial telephone/skype appointment to go through your requirements, please arrange by telephoning our offices in the usual way or by emailing Carli or Georgia through our website.

Once the document has been prepared, we are able to offer a number of ways for it to be executed, such as sending to you by post and arranging a telephone appointment to talk you through it and to guide you through the signing process or if necessary and urgent, to provide a ‘through the window’ service, where social distancing measures are adhered to but we can be assured that the document has been properly executed to avoid any later problems or issues with regards to validity.

Probate instructions, as well as Court of Protection matters will be taken over the telephone or via skype and the application will be sent to you by post for signature.

At Passmores Solicitors it is business as usual. We would like to reassure all clients that we have a strict contingency plan in place should we need to close the office, with minimal disruption to ongoing work.

Should we need to close our business for a period of time, there will be a further update on our website and social media outlets.

However, should you feel unwell or experience any symptoms associated with Covid19, then we would respectfully ask that you postpone your appointment until you are well enough to attend or to consider whether the appointment could take place over the telephone. These measures has been put in place to protect our clients, staff and their respective families.

Should you require an urgent outside visit i.e hospital, care home, home visit, then we shall consider your request on an individual basis taking into account all the circumstances and the risks involved.
