In extreme cases, injunctions can be taken out to protect victims of domestic violence. There are two kinds of injunctions that can be applied for:
Non Molestation Injunction - This is for an order advising the person that they cannot harass, pester or intimidate and must not use or threaten violence.
An Occupation Injunction - This is made to regulate the occupation of a home. It can direct a partner to vacate the home or to only reside in certain rooms.
A court order will tell the person what they can and cannot do and if they breach the terms of the order they will be punished.
Domestic violence is a particularly distressing situation and finance should not be an obstacle to finding a solution. We can apply for Public Funding (Legal Aid) and if you are eligible then we can grant you this funding immediately to take court action.
